Our services are designed for individuals aged 18 and older experiencing mental or behavioral health challenges.


Our Services

As an ARMHS (Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services) provider, we incorporate evidence-based mental health rehabilitation practices while honoring cultural and individual values. We assist clients with:

  • Enhancing family relationships

  • Accessing employment and education opportunities

  • Maintaining overall health and wellness

Our services include:

Diagnosis Evaluations

Our trained professionals conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and recommend appropriate therapies tailored to each individual’s needs.

Comprehensive Clinical Assessments

We carry out medical and clinical screenings to assess health status and screen for any issues such as contagious diseases or substance use that may impact the client or their household.

Mental Health Evaluations

Clients are evaluated for clinical mental health needs that may require interventions such as therapy or psychiatric medication.

In-Home and Community-Based Services

Clients may receive support in the home or community, allowing for continued engagement in daily responsibilities such as work or family care while receiving mental health services.

Medication Management

In collaboration with prescribing professionals, we assist clients with medication literacy and management to support their mental health recovery while monitoring for substance use risks.

Culturally Responsive Support Services

We deliver individualized care plans that reflect the cultural needs and personal goals of each client, helping them sustain recovery beyond program completion.

Interpersonal Communication Skills

We offer therapeutic programs to enhance social functioning, community integration, and independence, particularly for adults with developmental disabilities.

Individual, Family, and Group Therapy

Licensed therapists provide confidential services for individuals, families, couples, and groups.

Employment Capacity Evaluations

Clients are assessed for their ability to engage in or return to employment, as part of a broader rehabilitation and recovery process.

Long-Term Care and Placement Evaluations

When needed, we assist in transitioning clients to long-term care facilities and ensure continuous service and support during that move.


Basic Living & Social Skills Support

We provide instruction, support, and assistance in essential areas such as:

  • Interpersonal communication

  • Crisis management and response

  • Community resource access

  • Medication monitoring and symptom management

  • Transportation and errands

  • Relapse prevention

  • Grocery shopping, appointments, and more


Senior Care Services

  • Reducing isolation through community engagement

  • Nutrition education to prevent chronic illnesses (e.g., diabetes, heart disease)

  • Support with SSI benefits and immigration appointments

  • Housing support navigation


Family Care Services

  • Household management, including cleaning, organization, and home safety

  • Employment support and financial literacy education

As required by the MN Department of Human Services for ARMHS providers, Metro Housing Support Inc. delivers the following service categories:

Category 1 & 2 Services

Delivered in both individual and group formats depending on client needs, comfort levels, trust with staff, and cultural considerations. We use the Illness Management and Recovery (IMR) model, incorporating Motivational Interviewing to ensure services align with each client’s readiness for change.


Category 3 Services

We support transitions back to community living for individuals coming from hospitals, residential treatment, or long-term care facilities. Our staff collaborates with discharge teams and family to ensure seamless support.


Category 4 Services

Our community interventions help clients overcome cultural or familial barriers, including educational sessions for families and engaging with religious leaders to reduce stigma and build treatment acceptance.


Scope of Services Includes:

  • Medication monitoring and mental health education

  • Connecting clients with community medical, dental, and mental health services

  • Financial management and income assistance support

  • Transition support from residential care to independent living

  • Home organization, cleaning, and safety practices

  • Navigation of transportation and community orientation

  • Communication and social skills development

  • Vocational/employment readiness and support

  • Culturally integrated mental health support

  • Promoting healthy lifestyle habits


Service Locations

Services are provided wherever the client feels most comfortable and supported, including:

  • Client’s home

  • Workplace

  • Community centers or drop-in sites

  • Social/recreational settings

  • Other accessible and relevant community environments


Referral Sources

We welcome referrals from:

  • County case managers and contracted providers

  • Medical professionals

  • Social service agencies

  • Interpreters

  • Family members

  • Self-referrals

Most of our clients experience conditions such as PTSD, major depressive disorder, schizophrenia, and anxiety. We work closely with each individual to ensure their care is trauma-informed and recovery-focused.


Hours of Operation

Monday to Friday | 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Emergency support is available 24/7 by phone for active clients. All clients have a personalized crisis plan. For life-threatening emergencies, please call 911 or visit the nearest emergency room.
