At Metro Housing Support Inc., we are committed to providing Housing Support (HS), Emergency General Assistance (EGA), and Long-Term Homeless Supportive Services Fund (LTHSSF) services to individuals in need. While we currently serve Hennepin and Anoka County, we are actively working to expand our partnerships with additional counties to bring more housing stability resources to communities across Minnesota.

Housing Support (HS) Services

Housing Support (HS) is a state-funded program that provides rental assistance and supportive services for individuals who have low income, disabilities, or other barriers to stable housing.

Who Qualifies for Housing Support?

You may be eligible for Housing Support if you:
✔ Have a low income and meet the program’s financial criteria.
✔ Are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
✔ Have a disability, mental health condition, or other qualifying need.
✔ Reside in a Housing Support-approved setting, such as a supportive housing facility.

Our Housing Support Services Include:

✅ Assistance with finding and maintaining housing.
✅ Help navigating the application and approval process.
✅ Coordination with property managers and landlords.
✅ Ongoing case management and support services.

Emergency General Assistance (EGA)

EGA provides short-term financial assistance to individuals and families facing a housing crisis, such as eviction or utility shutoffs. Our team helps clients apply for EGA benefits and connect with resources to prevent homelessness.

How We Help:

✔ Emergency housing placement for those experiencing homelessness.
✔ Financial assistance for rent, security deposits, or overdue utility bills.
✔ Advocacy and case management to stabilize long-term housing.
✔ Connections to additional support services, including HSS and community resources.

Long-Term Homeless Supportive Services Fund (LTHSSF)

The Long-Term Homeless Supportive Services Fund (LTHSSF) provides critical support to individuals who have experienced extended periods of homelessness. This program is designed to offer long-term housing stability, intensive case management, and supportive services to help individuals rebuild their lives.

Our LTHSSF Support Includes:

✔ Comprehensive case management to address long-term housing needs.
✔ Mental health and substance use support services.
✔ Life skills training, including budgeting, employment assistance, and daily living support.
✔ Connections to permanent supportive housing to ensure long-term stability.

This program focuses on breaking the cycle of homelessness by providing ongoing resources and support to help individuals achieve independence and self-sufficiency.
